Thera-Business is pleased to welcome Ms. Aliisa Heiskanen, MSc, to our team as a Health Research Analyst.

Aliisa brings a strong academic and applied background in epidemiology, with specialized experience in infectious diseases. She earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a minor in Psychology, followed by a Master of Science in Epidemiology, both from the University of Ottawa. Her graduate research examined the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 and seasonal respiratory viruses, contributing to a portfolio of peer-reviewed publications focused on seroprevalence, vaccine immunogenicity and safety, and cohort-based infectious disease research.

In her role at Thera-Business, Aliisa supports health research and regulatory initiatives through rigorous analytic planning, statistical analysis, and data validation. She contributes across the research lifecycle, helping to develop data management and analysis plans, conduct quantitative analyses, and produce clear, structured, and reproducible research outputs.

Before joining Thera-Business, Aliisa worked within an academic infectious disease research network, coordinating multi-site studies. She was responsible for managing high-quality research datasets, conducting statistical analyses, and standardizing biospecimen and data workflows across collaborating institutions. Her experience also includes translating complex findings into reports, presentations, and manuscripts for diverse audiences while ensuring data traceability and adherence to ethical and quality requirements.
